Aura Of Beauty Permanent Makeup in Tulsa, Oklahoma OK. auraofbeauty Permanent cosmetics applied by Mychelle Tulk, RN, sometimes misspelled as Michelle or Michele

Call Mychelle's business line (918-747-8598) for questions about permanent makeup and to schedule appointments. You may have to leave a message and let me call you back. I cannot answer the phone while I am working with a client. I try to return calls between clients or at the end of the day. If you wish to view my portfolio only, you may stop in at any time (appt not needed) and ask the receptionist for it. The permanent makeup portfolio is of my own work, and pictures have the stamp on the back from wolf camera where I develop my film. NOTE: If a picture says "after" it was taken right after I was finished, if it says "healed" it was taken weeks or months later. My photos include before, after, and healed pictures. There is a big difference between "after" and "healed" pictures of a cosmetic tattoo.

Hours: Mon - Wed 9 to 6, Thurs - Fri 9 to 9  Weekend arrangements may be made for special circumstances. I really do not have set hours engraved in stone, and work an equal number of first and second shifts. If I am planning to work late, I just start the day later. I was a surgical nurse; so varying hours are not unusual to me. I even enjoy switched days and hours. Clients who get sedation and need to be dropped off and picked up may find it easier to get a ride later in the day, or may need a weekend so help with the kids is available.

Prices: Permanent makeup prices are for artistically applied permanent cosmetics. Most of the advanced techniques I utilize were developed by myself. Lower prices offered in some salons are single color permanent makeup which can look like it was applied with a magic marker. See the difference by clicking on the mannequin face. The one color not only looks boring, it is boring to apply, so I don't waste my time with that type of work. I indulge in graduating blends with special effects.

Payment methods accepted: Cash, Check (local area), Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). We no longer take American Express.

Cash Discounts. We are trying out something new due to increasing popularity of Rewards credit cards. Merchants are charged higher rates for certain types of cards. Rather than have everyone pay higher prices to absorb costs of credit card use, we are lowering the price for cash customers.

Eyeliner $600/ $500 cash price.
Permanent Eyeliner price is for advanced techniques of multi-blended tones and hues smoothed out and faded off, or any style desired. Stack with a sheer faded-off eyeshadow half way up to the eyelid crease - add $200. No extra charge if you want just a little bit to compliment your eyeliner.  The result is a glowing aide for eye shape, eye size, and eye color.

Eyebrows $450/ $400 cash price. Expertly framed for your face. Permanent eyebrows price is for a brushed-on technique, which is a powdery soft base with tri-color hairstrokes. Brows are softened off at the beginning and end/tail, and the top has feathering edges. The result is a very natural looking finish.

Full Lips $900/ $800 cash price. Permanent lip color price is for a pleasing visual enhancement created by graduating color tone and saturation to form an appearance of fullness. Full lip color may be with or without a lipliner look. Lipliner without full lip coloring is $450/ $400 cash price.

Location: In Oklahoma, permanent makeup procedures procedures must be performed in locations occupied by physicians (MD, DDS, DO), this includes medical spas (excludes day spas) owned by a physician.  I use the following location:

6465 S Yale ste 607, Tulsa, OK 74136 (Warren Medical Bldg by St Francis Hospital) Office of Dr Scott Hall - periodontal surgery and cosmetic dentistry dental implants.

Out-of-state clients: Three nearby hotels offer discounts to patients. The first two have shuttle transportation and room service meals. Our office also offers pick-up and drop-off services for procedure appts and airport flights. I keep in close contact with out-of-state clients during the stay, and you will receive a follow-up phone call after you return home to make sure all is well, and to answer any questions you may have. 1) Doubletree Hotel rates: $100-160. 2) Tulsa Select Hotel rates: $70-90. 3) Days Inn rates: $35-55.

The Permanent Makeup Procedure Room

Permanent makeup is all I do, all week long. I am usually able to keep up with my schedule since I do not have other jobs or duties. I do not have to fit permanent makeup procedures between facials or other services, and do not have just certain days set aside for permanent cosmetics. I try to call clients the day after the procedure to see how they are doing and answer any questions. Even with written and online instructions, clients may have something they are wondering about.

What to expect

Permanent eyebrows clients may drive themselves to the office. The eyebrows are numbed, and sedation is not needed. You will be at the office a couple of hours. After filling out paperwork, we talk about colors for the eyebrows. I consider the eyebrow pencil color you typically wear, your skin tones and hair color. I measure and mark your face for where your brows should start, stop, and where the break of the arch should be. Then I draw the brows in with eyebrow pencil. You look at them and let me know if you like them thicker, thinner, more arch, less arch, etc. When you like the way they are drawn in, that is my pattern. The eyebrows are numbed with injection (shots) so you are 100% numb. There is no noticeable swelling afterwards with eyebrows. There is not pain after the procedure. Sore to touch maybe, but that's about all.

Permanent eyeliner clients need to be dropped off and picked up. You will be at the office a few hours. Tell your ride we will call when we are finished. It is a long boring wait if the driver stays at the office, and I feel like I have to hurry if there is an impatient driver waiting. After filling out paperwork, we discuss colors, styles, and thickness. The numbing ointment has to set on the eyelids awhile. Eyeliner is not pre-marked on your eyelids because it would be a barrier between your skin and the topical numbing medicine. It is not needed anyway because the eyelashes are the reference point. After the topical has numbed a little while, a small amount (1/4-1/2 cc) of subdermal injection per eyelid is used. By this time the sedation prescribed by the supervising physician has taken effect and you are sleepy. The small amount of injection assists the topical and makes the pigment take better with less trauma to the skin. Injection to the eyelids causes a little more swelling than without it, but there is less redness and irritation. Clients are much more comfortable and just nap while I work. Offices that use injection only have to inject a larger amount and it makes the eyelids swell too much. Clients don't like that much swelling and it is more hindrance in viewing the true eye shape while working.  Offices that use topical only might have an uncomfortable client and cannot implant enough pigment so it will last longer or can't get the thickness and style done in one session. I have found a little of both to be a very nice compromise. There is a little bit of swelling for a couple days - not too bad. There is not pain after the procedure is finished. Sore to touch possibly.

Permanent lip color clients need to be dropped off and picked up. The supervising physician will prescribe a little sedation for the procedure, plus an extra pain pill in case you have discomfort later at home. Other meds are prescribed as needed for those who get cold sores, etc. The lips are numbed with injection so you are 100% numb and mostly nap while I work. The lips will swell big no matter what numbing method is used. They are very vascular.
